Superior STX liner: for pellets and lighter slugsHuub Andriessen

The Superior STX liner is a genuine step up from the standard STX, tighter tolerances and refined rifling do make a real difference, especially if you're shooting hybrid slugs alongside pellets. That said, if you're only shooting traditional pellets at moderate distances and your current liner is in good condition, you probably won't notice a dramatic improvement. This upgrade makes the most sense when you're chasing that extra edge in accuracy, switching between pellets and hybrid slugs regularly, or when your existing liner is simply worn out and due for replacement. My tip: pair it with the matching caliber and a length that suits your barrel setup, don't just default to the longest option thinking more is always better.

FX Airguns Superior Standard STX Liner

The FX Airguns Superior Standard STX Liner is designed to deliver excellent accuracy with traditional diabolo pellets and lighter slugs. As the successor to the successful FX STX Liner B, it combines the proven Smooth Twist X barrel technology with a refined manufacturing process and tighter production tolerances.

Instead of cutting the rifling into the inside of the barrel, FX forms the rifling by pressing it into the liner from the outside. This manufacturing method creates a very smooth internal finish, reducing friction and projectile drag as the pellet or slug travels through the bore. The optimized production process improves dimensional consistency and contributes to predictable accuracy from shot to shot.

The Superior Standard Liner uses a rifling profile and twist rate developed for standard-weight pellets and lighter slugs. This makes it an excellent all-round choice for shooters who primarily use conventional pellets but also want the option of experimenting with lighter slug-style projectiles.

Thanks to the modular FX STX barrel system, the liner can be exchanged without permanently modifying the barrel assembly. This allows you to change the liner type, caliber or barrel length while retaining the same compatible FX rifle platform.

When changing caliber, additional calibre-specific components may be required, including the correct pellet probe, barrel housing, shroud or magazine. Rifle settings such as regulator pressure, hammer spring tension and valve adjustment may also need to be tuned to match the selected projectile and barrel configuration.

For the best results, the rifle should be tuned to match the selected projectile, liner length and caliber. When converting to another caliber, additional calibre-specific components such as the correct pellet or slug probe, magazine and transferport  may also be required.
