Snowpeak PR900W G3 Lynx Wood PCP Air Rifle

PR900W G3 Lynx: a first PCP with a wood stockHuub Andriessen

The PR900W G3 Lynx is a solid entry-level PCP that does what it promises: consistent shots thanks to the built-in regulator, a decent two-stage adjustable trigger, and a real wood stock, all in one package. If you're already an experienced shooter looking for a precision target rifle or a high-end hunting setup, this isn't for you. Likewise, if you're a southpaw hoping for a dedicated left-hand stock, the ambidextrous design is a compromise, not a solution. But for a first-time PCP buyer who wants a regulated rifle with a classic feel without overspending, it's a genuinely sensible choice. My tip: start in .22 calibre, it gives you the best balance between shot count from the 130cc reservoir and enough energy for versatile use in the field.

Snowpeak PR900W G3 Lynx Wood Air Rifle

Snowpeak is a leading manufacturer of PCP airguns. The company combines good design and quality for an unbeatable price. A good example is the PR900W G3 Lynx Wood, the successor to the popular PR900 serie. This new make has been fitted with a regulator, this ensures that shots generate the same amount of power, as long the air pressure is adequate. The stock is made of checkered wood.

Pellets are fed into the barrel from the rotary magazine by operating the bolt-action cocking lever. After undoing the safety, the two-stage adjustable trigger can be pulled to take a shot. Repeating this process enables the user to take multiple shots. The included single shot tray can be used to replace the magazine to single load pellets. Magazine capacity amounts to:

The trigger is two-stage adjustable, trigger pull can be adjusted from 2 to 4 lbs. The air reservoir of 130 cc is good for dozens of shots, and the stock of European beech features chequered areas on the grip and forend, an elevated cheek piece and a rubber butt stock. After removing the thread protector, a silencer can be screwed on to reduce muzzle noise.
