The Element Optics Helix HD 1-8×24 L4A is a compact variable-power rifle scope combining a wide field of view at 1x magnification with the additional detail offered by its 8x maximum magnification. Its 30 mm main tube, second focal plane L4A reticle and illuminated centre dot make it suitable for both close-range and medium-range shooting.

The optical system uses fully multi-coated lenses and offers up to 92% light transmission for a bright and clear image, including at higher magnification settings. Because the L4A reticle is positioned in the second focal plane, its apparent size remains unchanged throughout the 1-8x magnification range. This keeps the crosshairs fine and helps maintain an unobstructed view of the target.

At the centre of the reticle is a red illuminated aiming dot. Its fibre-optic illumination system offers 11 brightness levels, allowing the intensity to be adjusted to different lighting conditions.

Windage and elevation are adjusted in 0.1 MRAD increments, with 6 MRAD of adjustment per full turret rotation. Both turrets are protected by caps to reduce the risk of unintended changes during transport or use. Parallax is factory-set at 100 metres, while the adjustable ocular allows the reticle focus to be matched to the individual shooter.

The Helix HD has an inert-gas-filled and weatherproof construction to help prevent internal lens fogging and protect the optical system from changing weather conditions. Its robust design is rated for recoil forces up to and including .50 BMG.
