What is the Daystate Alpha Wolf platform?

The Alpha Wolf is a pre-charged, multi-shot, electronically controlled bullpup rifle. Air is stored in a 480cc carbon bottle filled to a maximum of 240 bar, feeding through a fast-flow valve and a large plenum chamber before reaching a regulator supplied by Huma-Air, our own regulator manufacturing operation in Borne. The barrel is a polygonal ART design made by German barrel maker Lothar Walther. Cocking is by a reversible side lever, so the rifle works equally well for left- and right-handed shooters. The onboard AVT touchscreen lets you set pellet weight and caliber, and the system recommends a regulator pressure and power setting accordingly; you can follow that recommendation or fine-tune it yourself. Changing caliber is done with a barrel and pellet probe kit rather than buying a separate rifle.

Blue Special Edition or Performance: which configuration fits you?

Huma-Air lists two editions of the same platform. The Performance 23″ is priced at €2.640,49 and carries the standard finish. The Blue Special Edition 23″ is priced at €3.180,00 and adds a distinct blue stock finish; the internals, regulator, barrel, and electronics are shared between both. Both are 842mm (33.1 in) overall with a 600mm (23.6 in) barrel and weigh 3550 grams (7.8 lb).

Choosing a caliber: .22, .25, or .30

Huma-Air lists the Alpha Wolf in .22 (5.5mm), .25 (6.35mm), and .30 (7.62mm). Independent test reviews of the .22 version report a magazine capacity of 11 shots, held in a magnetic, slide-across magazine system; magazine capacity for the .25 and .30 versions was not confirmed in the sources we checked, so ask our team for the current figure before ordering if that number matters to your setup. Caliber choice affects more than bore size: heavier pellets and slugs in .25 and .30 need a different regulator pressure and power setting, which is exactly what the onboard AVT system is designed to calculate for you when you change barrels.

What independent reviewers say

Reviewers who have tested the Alpha Wolf describe the shooting experience, bolt action, and electronic trigger as standout features of the platform. Two points come up consistently as areas for improvement rather than praise: the factory buttpad is often replaced with an aftermarket unit for comfort, and the .22 magazine capacity of 11 shots is on the lower side compared with some rival PCP platforms, though Daystate’s magnetic magazine system keeps the loading process quick even at that capacity. We think this kind of balanced feedback is more useful to a technically minded buyer than a list of adjectives, so we are including it here rather than leaving it out.

Filling, safety, and shipping

The Alpha Wolf’s carbon bottle has a maximum fill pressure of 240 bar. Never fill above the pressure stamped on the cylinder itself. Carbon and steel cylinders carry a test date and a service life; check this before every refill cycle, not just when the rifle is new. Use clean, dry air for filling, since moisture is the leading cause of corrosion and valve problems in any PCP system, and always bleed the system down before disassembling a regulator or fitting. Airgun ownership rules differ by country and change over time, so it is the buyer’s responsibility to check local rules before ordering, particularly for larger calibers such as .25 and .30. Huma-Air ships worldwide from Borne, the Netherlands, with orders placed before 14:00 (GMT+1) typically dispatched the same day. Outside the EU, the customer is the importer of record; Huma-Air cannot guarantee customs clearance and does not reimburse shipments seized by customs. Full terms are on our shipping information page.

To understand what the built-in regulator is actually doing for shot consistency, read our function of a regulator page, and check fitting instructions before swapping a barrel kit for a different caliber.

What calibers does the Daystate Alpha Wolf come in?

Huma-Air lists the Alpha Wolf in .22 (5.5mm), .25 (6.35mm), and .30 (7.62mm), across both the Performance and Blue Special Edition variants.

What is the difference between the Blue Special Edition and Performance versions?

The Performance 23″ is €2.640,49 with the standard finish. The Blue Special Edition 23″ is €3.180,00 and adds a distinct blue stock. The regulator, barrel, and electronics are the same across both.

How many shots does the Alpha Wolf magazine hold?

Independent tests of the .22 caliber version report 11 shots per magazine, using a magnetic slide-across system. Capacity for .25 and .30 was not confirmed in the sources we reviewed; contact us for the current figure on those calibers.

Does the Daystate Alpha Wolf use a Huma-Air regulator?

Yes. This rifle’s regulator is supplied by Huma-Air, alongside a Lothar Walther ART barrel and a 480cc carbon bottle rated to a 240 bar maximum fill pressure.

What does the AVT touchscreen system do?

It lets you set the pellet or slug weight and caliber, then recommends a regulator pressure and power setting to match. You can follow that recommendation or adjust it yourself once you are familiar with the platform.

What fill pressure does the Alpha Wolf need, and is it safe to fill at home?

The maximum fill pressure is 240 bar; never exceed the pressure stamped on the cylinder. Use clean, dry air, check the cylinder’s test date before each fill, and always bleed the system down before removing a regulator or fitting.
